Lyne Charlebois is a prolific artist. She started her cinematographic
career in the early eighties as a movie still photographer, and worked
with such directors as Jean-Claude Lauzon, Gilles Carle and Pierre
Falardeau, all well-known Quebecer cinematographers.

Lyne was then commissioned to create theatrical posters for the
Théâtre du Nouveau Monde and the Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui (“Le
Misanthrope”, “Don Quichote”, “Equus”, “Mille-Feuilles”…) as well as
sleeve photography for various Québec artists’ album covers (Jean
Leloup, Richard Séguin, Pierre Flynn, Roch Voisine, Jim Corcoran,
etc.). More recently, she has travelled extensively through Africa,
Asia, South America, and Europe in the framework of “Circus Around
The World”, a documentary photography project for the Cirque du
Soleil.

In the late eighties, with her sights set on a directing career, Lyne
Charlebois started learning her craft through making music videos.
Praised for her originality and high quality standards, she went on to
create more than a hundred of such productions in a ten year span,
and received several awards and distinctions for her work on videos
for artists such as Daniel Bélanger (Two ‘Félix’ for Best Music Video
of the Year, Best Music Video at the Los Angeles Music Festival
for the song “Opium”), Laurence Jalbert (‘Félix’), Celine Dion, Isabelle
Boulay, Gogh Van Go (Best Music Video of the Year at the Juno
Awards), Ginette Reno, Jim Corcoran, Marjo (‘Félix’), and many
others.

In the past fifteen years, Lyne Charlebois has dedicated herself to
the fields of film and television. The acclaimed TV series “Nos Étés”,
“Tabou”, and the documentary fiction “Yin-Yang” remain some of her
best-known works.

“Quel Jour Sommes-Nous?”: 7 films, 7 days, 7 ways to decline the
verb ‘To love’ which she directed, were shown at the Toronto Film
Festival in 2005, at the Rencontres du Court-Métrage in Paris, and
at the Ex-Centris Cinema in Montréal during the Festival du Nouveau
Cinéma. Charlebois has also directed an impressive number of
popular campaigns for Wal-Mart, Loto-Québec, Héma-Québec,
Leclerc, and Eggs Québec, to name but a few.

She has just finished the filming of “Borderline”, a movie which she
co-wrote with author Marie-Sissi Labrèche (based on her books
“Borderline” and “La brêche”). The film, produced by Max Films'
Roger Frappier and Luc Vandal is being released February 8th, 2008.
The impressive cast includes Jean-Hugues Anglade, Isabelle Blais,
Angèle Coutu and Sylvie Drapeau. (Visit official movie site)
